I know HE watches me...

Psalm 121:1-8
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?  2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.  4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.  5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.  6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.  7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.  8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.

The big buck walked across the hillside straight across from us and paused several times.  His talk white antlers would score well over 150".  My friend sat next to me, his gun cradled in the top of the gun rest.  I kept encouraging him to, "take the shot", but he didn't pull the trigger.

Eventually the buck walked into the valley below us and stood long enough for not one shot... but many shots.

As the buck walked away unscathed my friend hung his head.  I turned to him and said, "whether you harvested that buck or not will make no difference in your life tomorrow."

I get amazed at the amount of times in my life when I get depressed over something that I have no control over or something that is already past.  I know without a shadow of a doubt that God has control over all things.  The last few years I've been using the phrase, "what difference will it make in my life, tomorrow?".  So why do I get discouraged?

I love the old hymn, "HIS EYE IS ON THE SPARROW".  It begins like this.

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav'n and home,
When Jesus is my portion. My constant Friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free,
For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Sing and don't be discouraged...  For " I know He watches me."
