Once again, it's been a long time since God's Great Outdoors E-zine has published a new issue. We didn't go away, we've just had a few continuing problems.
Please recall that those of us who work on the E-zine, just like everyone who works for God's Great Outdoors, are not paid staff members. We volunteer our time and talents to help this ministry. And because we are volunteers, sometimes, life gets in the way.
Last year, our Managing Editor, Tracy Breen, suffered a complete hard drive crash. With that hard drive, Tracy lost hundreds of articles and photos - most of which were supplied by our readers. If you had previously sent an article or photo to Tracy, so we can continue the rebuilding process. Also, Tracy recently was seriously injured while turkey hunting earlier this year; please pray for his continued recovery.
Our Technical Editor, Steve Kovach, has been patiently suffering through continuing Internet Service Provider problems. Now that the ISP has replaced many parts both at the portal as well as at Steve's house, the ISP says that the problems have been solved. Connectivity to the Internet seems much more stable and is once again receiving e-mail. This also means that Steve can once again build each e-zine issue as well as reach behind the scenes of the E-zine web pages and start loading new issues.
Earlier this year, God's Great Outdoors switched web-masters. While this change was transparent to many visitors to our web pages, there were behind the scenes issues that caused delays. We pray that these technical issues have been resolved and that we can continue to move forward.
For our faithful readers, welcome back (again)! Do you know someone who needs to know that we are back? Be sure to let them know.
In this issue, our resident biologist presents some wildlife trivia to have fun with. Matt Evans takes us on another hike - this time in Alaska, and reexamines motivations. Dr. Tom Rakow discusses how the Lord used dogs to distinguish between the Egyptian and the Israelites during the exodus. Tracy Breen talks about his obsession with archery gizmos and gadgets. William Emery talks about reassessing one's hunting goals in order to be successful when hunting. Lastly, Gerry Caillouet talks about decisions and God's provisions.
Once again, welcome back and we hope you enjoy this issue of the God's Great Outdoors E-zine.
