It's been a very long time since God's Great Outdoors E-zine has published a new issue. We didn't go away, we've just had a few problems.
Please recall that those of us who work on the E-zine, just like everyone who works for God's Great Outdoors, are not paid staff members. We volunteer our time and talents to help this ministry. And because we are volunteers, sometimes, life gets in the way.
Our Managing Editor, Tracy Breen, suffered a complete hard drive crash early in the calendar year. With that hard drive, Tracy lost hundreds of articles and photos - most of which were supplied by our readers. If you had previously sent an article or photo to Tracy, please send them again so we can continue the rebuilding process.
Our Technical Editor, Steve Kovach, has been patiently suffering through a multitude of Internet Service Provider problems through much of the year. However, the ISP now says that the problems have been solved. Connectivity to the Internet seems much more stable and we are once again receiving e-mail. This also means that Steve can once again reach behind the scenes of the E-zine web pages and start loading new issues.
For our faithful readers, welcome back! Do you know someone who needs to know that we are back? Be sure to let them know.
In this issue, the only one for 2006, our resident biologist discusses bird flu and common sense precautions to take with your harvest. Matt Evans relates an experience while hiking on Mt. Fuji and how one's goals can change in an instant. Gerry Caillouet discusses why outdoor ministry can be an important outreach tool. Dr. Tom Rakow brings us another one of his wonderful illustrations that centers around a dog with no name (at least, for a while). Michael Strahan takes us to Africa where we all an learn a lesson on serving. Michael Brooks reveals how many hunters have probably had the same prayer, and how he followed up on that prayer.
Once again, welcome back and we hope you enjoy this issue of the God's Great Outdoors E-zine.

Send a letter to the editor, or submit your own story, photos, or poetry for publication in a future issue.
Have something you want our resident wildlife biologist to look into, then drop him a note.
