About Gerry Caillouet, the host of God's Great Outdoors Radio

Gerry was born the 21st of April 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The family were members of a denomination which taught that works helped receive God's grace and favor. The two most memorable years of Gerry's childhood were spent living on his grandparents farm in upstate New York. The woods, fields and streams were teeming with just about everything to capture a young boy's attention and interest. From there, the family moved to Laurel, Maryland and despite the relocation to the suburbs (15 miles from Washington, D.C.) Gerry hiked to the woods and fields surrounding his community. His expeditions were geared towards capturing creatures like crayfish, turtles and salamanders.

Gerry's father instructed him in firearm safety, archery and fly fishing. The family traveled to hunt and fish Maryland's Eastern Shore, mountains and their home's neighboring hill country. Additionally, Gerry would spend summers visiting his older sister in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Here he fished for pike and walleye all the while gazing across the water to the Canadian shore line. All this stirred a desire for adventure in the outdoors.

With schooling completed, he joined the Marine Corps for some military adventure. Becoming more and more the rebel to the things of God and religious teaching, he would still drop in on church, but had no interest in it.

With his tour of duty over, Gerry continued his outdoor activities and the pursuit of another, girls. He and his wife Cyndi were married in 1976 and soon had their first son, Courtney.

But their young marriage was floundering, and in truth the couple only stayed together because neither one could stand the thought of not being around their son.

A co-worker of Gerry's shared about his responsibility to care for a child's spiritual needs as well as the physical requirements. The young father was sure he would spend eternity in Hell and didn't care, but could not stand the thought of the same fate for his son Courtney. So, Gerry began to seek the truth and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1978. Within two weeks his wife Cyndi received the Lord also. Soon their daughter Katie was born followed less than two years later by son, Clinton. Over the years as Gerry has grown in Christ, there have been many tough lessons to learn and changes to be made. But God's Word supplies the transforming power to accomplish what we need to be changed in to the likeness of God.

God turned Gerry's love of outdoor adventures in to a desire to use those interests to reach the unsaved men, women and children all around us who pursue the same activities. From a camping ministry at his home church, Community Grace Brethren in West Milton, Ohio, to working with Christian Bowhunters of America on both the local and national level. This moved to an amazing series of doors the Lord opened to where Gerry now hosts and produces a nationally syndicated Christian radio program called God's Great Outdoors.

Additionally, the ministry of God's Great Outdoors develops and facilitates outdoor adventures across the nation in all types of outdoor interests. And to all that Jesus Christ has worked out in his life, Gerry can only say, "To God be the glory!"

Gerry is a past Board of Directors member for Christian Bowhunters of America and currently serves on the Board of Directors of God's Great Outdoors. He is an Ohio Hunting Safety Instructor and an instructor for the National Bowhunter Education Foundation. Gerry lives in West Milton, Ohio with his wife Cyndi. Gerry and Cyndi's oldest son Courtney, his wife Rebekah and daughter Katherine lives in the area. Their daughter Katie also lives close by with her husband Jeremy Mary. Youngest son Clint is working in the Dayton area and is married. He and his wife Jenny have made us proud grandparents to a son named Christopher. Cyndi is the voice of The Country Kitchen and is the Director of Operations in the office of God's Great Outdoors.
